At IK sieraden, you’ll find unique and timeless jewelry. Every piece is handmade by Diana in Rotterdam, and she loves to add a personal touch to her designs, making each one unique to the wearer.
About the maker
Diana van der Wal, born and raised in Rotterdam, chose to study goldsmithing in Schoonhoven 35 years ago. Since then, the workbench has been her happy place. For the past 10 years, she has focused on creating jewelry using old watch parts. Her fascination with time and love for the craft come together in an unconventional collection called ‘Not Time To Waste’. “A fitting name, as I symbolically preserve time through my work. And besides, life is too short to waste precious time.”
The production process & sustainability
Everything is handmade by Diana in her studio in Rotterdam. In her jewelry, she likes to reuse everyday objects like old watch movements and coins. Precious metals are also reused as much as possible. In addition to the ‘No Time To Waste’ collection, she also makes a series called ‘Number One’, in which she reuses old Dutch cents, personalized with the year of your choice. “A beautiful symbol to gift to someone you care about.”
Also nice
In addition to her collections, Diana also creates custom pieces. “Because after all these years, it’s still special to translate someone’s memories or cherished moments into a personal piece of jewelry.”
