Founder Fabiola’s deep-rooted South American heritage has aided her unstoppable passion for the authentic flavors and traditions of her home country. This passion, combined with years of culinary experience, led to the birth of La Chica Food – a place where traditional recipes and modern culinary innovation come together to create a unique dining experience.
The Production Process & Sustainability
All empanadas from La Chica food are made by hand in Amsterdam. The dough is completely plant-based. The filling of the empanadas changes every season as seasonal ingredients are used. The filling and dough are produced separately. The dough is used on the rolling machine to make rounds of different sizes for the empanadas. The filling and the rounds come together on the folding machine, with which the empanadas are folded closed.
La Chica Food works together with local suppliers and partners, including To Good To Go, to reduce food waste. For smaller deliveries they use a cargo bike.
