About the Makers
Traveling barista Salma Tabiat discovered what chai should really taste like in India and Sri Lanka. That inspiration led to nomadschai, her own handmade sticky chai blend. Together with baristas, cafe owners and customers, she has developed a chai tea that they believe is the very best. “We believed that in the Netherlands, besides all the beautiful coffee and tea, there should be a good coffee alternative.”
What started with a few small espresso bars in The Hague has grown into their own warehouse, with a cart full of catering and webshop customers every day. The range has changed a bit here and there, but the mainstays are the chai brew 500ml and the sticky chai 200gr.
Production Process & Sustainability
The chai latte blends from nomadschai are made with a lot of love and attention. “We make our chai products based on black tea and a spice mix of cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, fennel, ginger, star anise and cloves.” nomadschai is a small company and makes everything locally, on a smaller scale and with a view to minimizing waste.
