About the maker
Rob Alferink is a creator of wooden lamps and a specialist in LED lighting. With a background in physics, Rob has always been fascinated by light. In recent years, he has specialized in the Japanese Kumiko technique. “Working with wood is a passion. Creating lamps using the Kumiko technique allows me to combine both interests.”

Production process & sustainability
All products are handmade by Rob in his own workshop. Kumiko is a technique that demands patience, precision, and complete focus. This traditional Japanese woodworking method involves creating intricate patterns from small interlocking pieces of wood. Whenever possible, Rob uses wood sourced from within Europe.
