We believe in a region with a sustainable economy, where the manufacturing industry is visible. Where people consciously choose home-grown products that are made with attention to sustainability and creativity or craftsmanship. A region in which consumers and companies buy locally and visitors also choose to do so. This way, money circulates regionally and the local economy strengthens.

We want to contribute to this by drawing attention to local, sustainable companies and their makers. We give them exposure in various ways: we tell their stories, show their products on our website and arrange visibility in the media via our partners. We also carry the Amsterdam Made & Locally Made quality marks; quality labels for local and sustainable products, so that they are easier to find and recognize

For us, local means that a maker is located and produces within the Netherlands. Sustainable for us means that the products are made with the least possible burden on people, the environment and the planet and, if possible, with locally sourced ingredients and materials.

Our website is an online showcase for local and sustainable products. On the site you will find over 500 products that our affiliated makers have made. From jewelry to food products and clothing to accessories. We show the products, but you cannot buy it at our website. You buy it directly from the maker.This way, the maker retains the margin and makes the most profit.

Within our product overview and maker overview you can make a selection based on city and/or product category. Do you see a product that interests you? Once you click on it, you will be redirected to the maker’s own website and you can purchase the product there.

Our goal is to showcase all products that are made locally and sustainably within The Netherlands. That is why you will find a wide variety of products. You will find many food products, but also clothing, skincare products, jewelry, accessories and design. From bicycles to beers and soaps to glasses, you name it and we’ve got it!

The Amsterdam Made & Locally Made quality marks are quality labels for locally produced and sustainable products. Products that carry the quality mark are produced within the Netherlands and are made with locally sourced ingredients and materials as much as possible.

All products that can be found on our website carry on of the quality marks. This helps you as a consumer to be sure that the products shown are truly locally produced and sustainable.

All companies interested in joining Amsterdam Made or Locally Made are assessed based on our core values of sustainability and creativity or craftmanship. The quality of the quality mark is monitored by professional experts.

We send a newsletter to consumers once every three weeks. Our newsletter is a beautiful inspirational email with a different theme each time and a selection of sustainable products that you can find on our website. In addition, we highlight two local makers in every newsletter. Once every quarter we send a more extensive newsletter, in which we also post news about Amsterdam Made & Locally Made. You can sign up for our newsletter via our footer.

You can become part and take advantage of all the benefits if…

• … you/your company make(s) a physical product;
• … your company is located in the Netherlands;
• … your company produces within the Netherlands;
• … your company uses as local ingredients/materials as possible;
• … your product is made with attention to sustainability and creativity or craftsmanship;
• … at least 1 FTE is spent on your company (this may be divided among several people)
• … your company has a turnover.

The costs for participation are €29,- per month. We invoice in advance every six months and ask for a one-off registration fee of €35,-.

You can apply via our registration form. After registration our jury will check whether your product and the way it is made fits within our core values.

Do you need help with registering, would you like more information or would you like to contact us personally first? We are happy to email/call you. Send an email (with your phone number if necessary) to info@amsterdammade.org.

If your company meets the conditions stated in the FAQ ‘Who can become part of Amsterdam Made/Locally Made?’ you will receive the quality mark. After registration, we will check whether your product fits within our core values. If so, you will receive confirmation from us that you will become part of it and you will immediately receive information about the quality mark and how you can use it.
