We believe in a sustainable regional economy where local manufacturing is visible and valued. A place where people consciously choose products made close to home—with care for sustainability, creativity, and craftsmanship. In such a region, both residents and visitors buy locally, keeping money circulating within the community and strengthening the local economy.

With the Amsterdam Made® and Locally Made® quality marks, we make local, sustainable products instantly recognisable to consumers. These quality labels stimulate consumer awareness so they will choose a more responsible lifestyle and adopt the buy-local mentality.

In addition, we provide makers with extra exposure and support: we share their stories, show their products on our website, offer visibility through media partners, and create a network where knowledge is shared and collaborations emerge.

To us, local means the maker is based in the region and produces within the Netherlands. Sustainable means the product is made with minimal impact on people, the environment, and the planet—and where possible, using locally sourced materials or ingredients.

Our website is an online showcase for local and sustainable products from across the Netherlands. You’ll find over 500 products made by our affiliated makers—from jewelry to food, clothing to accessories.

We provide extra visibility for these products, but purchases are not made through our site. Instead, we link directly to the maker’s own webshop. That way, the maker keeps full control—and the full profit.

You can browse our product overview or maker overview. See something you like? Click on it to go straight to the maker’s website to make your purchase.

Our goal is to showcase the full range of products that are locally and sustainably made in the Netherlands. That means you’ll find everything from food and drinks to fashion, skincare, jewelry, design items, and more. From bikes to beers and soap to sunglasses—if it’s made with care, we want it on our platform.

The Amsterdam Made®  and Locally Made®  quality marks are labels for products that are both locally produced and sustainable. Items with these marks are made within the Netherlands, and as much as possible with materials from Dutch soil.

Every product featured on our website carries one of these marks. That way, you can be confident that what you’re seeing is genuinely local and responsibly made.

Are you a local maker and do you want to receive the quality mark, get exposure on our website and our social media channels and use our network? Apply here.

All businesses that apply to join Amsterdam Made or Locally Made are reviewed based on our core values: sustainability and creativity or craftsmanship. The integrity of our quality marks is monitored by expert professionals in the field.

We send out a consumer newsletter every two to three weeks. Each edition we curate a selection of sustainable products featured on our site. Twice a year, we send a more in-depth update, which includes broader news about Amsterdam Made & Locally Made.

You can become part and take advantage of all the benefits if…

• … you/your company makes a physical product;
• … your company is located in the Netherlands;
• … your company produces within the Netherlands;
• … your company uses as many ingredients/materials from local sources as possible;
• … your product is made with attention to sustainability and creativity or craftsmanship;

There are three different options to become part of Locally Made or Amsterdam Made.

• Maker Light for €14 per month
• Maker Basis for €29 per month
• Maker Plus for €79 per month

You can apply via our registration form. After registration our jury will check whether your product and the way it is made fits within our core values.

Do you need help with registering, would you like more information or would you like to contact us personally first? We are happy to email/call you. Send an email (with your phone number if necessary) to info@locallymade.nl.

If your company meets the conditions mentioned under the FAQ ‘Who can become part of Amsterdam Made/Locally Made?’ you will receive the Amsterdam Made® and/or Locally Made® quality mark. After registration, we check whether your product fits within our core values. If this is the case, you will receive confirmation from us that you have become part of it and immediately receive information about the quality mark and how you can use it.

Our Advisory Board consists of Sarriel Taus, Marlies Touw, Oscar Kneppers, and James Veenhof. Background information about our Advisory Board can be found in this blog (in Dutch).

Our partners are companies that share the same vision or provide a service that is interesting for the makers and/or the manufacturing sector. We increase our reach and create more impact by forming a unity with these partners. We have set up a reliable network of partners with whom you as a maker can collaborate.

Think of a sustainable printing company, a trademark lawyer, a coach specialized in makers, and a sustainable sewing atelier. We have a good and active relationship with all these parties. With some partners, you can even get discounts on their services through us.
