Atelier LUZ is an Amsterdam studio where Marike Hauser designs and makes beautiful jewelry. The studio is known for its beautiful design, high quality and focus on sustainability. Marike’s collections are often inspired by flowers and shapes from nature.
About the Maker
Marike Hauser discovered her passion for jewelry during a school craft project. This experience inspired her to found LUZ. “Sometimes I work from a fixed design, but often I let the design develop during the process,” says Marike. This artisanal and creative process forms the core of her work.
Production Process
All Atelier LUZ jewelry is made by hand, with a strong focus on the use of fair and ecologically sourced gold. Marike explains: “Investing in sustainable gold has a direct positive impact on gold mining.” The collections include materials such as gold, white gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones, pearls and porcelain. Wedding rings are custom made in the studio, with personal wishes incorporated into the design.
Sustainability
Marike strives for sustainability by using sustainable gold and is a registered goldsmith with Fairtrade International. “I want to contribute to more sustainable gold mining and a more conscious world.” The studio makes well-considered choices at every step of the production process to make a positive impact on the environment.
