Caron Fitzpatrick
Founder
Caron Fitzpatrick is an artisan goldsmith and jewelry designer in Amsterdam. She designs and makes cool personal jewelry. Wedding rings, men’s jewelry and memorial jewelry. She make each piece on request and for her own collection.
About the Maker
Her father built steam engines, and Caron was fascinated by them from an early age. She actually wanted to become a sculptor, but during her education at the art academy she lacked the technical know-how and knowledge of materials. For that reason, she then decided to train at the Vocational School for Goldsmiths in Amsterdam. Here she learned the craft of jewelry making. In a way, she now partakes in mini-sculpting.
Caron originally started designing and making jewelry for men. Caron’s mission to get men to wear jewelry turned out to be the perfect combination with her love for industrial parts. These influences are clearly reflected in Caron’s work. She designs and makes both on commission and for her own collections and no longer just for men. Her sturdy, robust jewelry is also full of symbolism. “There’s always a story behind it.”
Production Process
Caron makes everything by hand in her own studio in Amsterdam. In addition to creating her own jewelry collections, Caron also works by request. “Transforming a personal story into a piece of jewelry is a beautiful and inspiring process, which is why I look forward to every assignment,” says Caron. During an intake interview, she listens carefully to the customer’s personal story and wishes. Based on this, she presents three 3D designs that are discussed together with the customer. Material, gemstones, dimensions, proportions and adjustments are discussed. The jewelry is then made.
