Amsterdam is known for its creativity, entrepreneurship and innovative spirit. With the Amsterdam Made Awards, we give the Amsterdam manufacturing industry an extra large, annual platform.
The best products from Amsterdam deserve the recognition they’ve earned. Across our categories, we look for the product that truly stands out in sustainability, craftsmanship and story. Will it be a circular garment, a design object made from recycled materials, or perhaps a skincare product with a truly unique ingredient?
For the first edition of the Amsterdam Made Awards, forty makers from the Amsterdam metropolitan area will be selected who best represent what the Amsterdam manufacturing industry stands for.
What are we looking for?
The selected products are assessed on three main criteria:
- Sustainability & production. We look at circularity and reuse, longevity and repairability, materials, production process and packaging, and local production with short supply chains.
- Quality & innovation. We look at craftsmanship and finish, innovation in design or production, functionality and future-proofing, and originality and distinctiveness.
- Story & appeal. We look at aesthetics and brand experience, storytelling and provenance, transparency of the production process, and social impact.
The categories Awards can be won in five categories:
- Interior & Lifestyle – The most beautiful product for the home and daily life: design, lighting, textiles and home accessories.
- Food & Drink – The most delicious product from Amsterdam. From craft beer to fermentation heroes and circular snacks.
- Fashion & Jewellery – The most stylish product from Amsterdam. Striking clothing, accessories and jewellery, responsibly produced.
- Personal Care – The best personal care product from Amsterdam. Effective and with natural ingredients.
- Special: Alcohol-Free – Each year we put one extra product group in the spotlight. This year: alcohol-free drinks.
A panel of judges – consisting of well-known experts in design, food, fashion and sustainability – determines the winners per category. The winners will be announced at a celebratory award show open to makers, brands, media and partners.
