Dutch Art Reproductions makes reproductions of works of art by old masters and contemporary artists on canvas and ceramic tile panels.
About the Makers
Stephan Gold and Monique de Ruiter founded Dutch Art Reproductions in 1997. “When digital photography and high-quality commercial printing techniques emerged, we seized it with both hands.” They were involved in photography, graphic design and printed their work on photo paper and canvas. In 2000 they started reproducing works of art on ceramic tiles.
Production Process
All reproductions are made by hand in their studio in Amsterdam. They do this with a small team of dedicated professionals, with a passion for perfection. Dutch Art Reproductions works closely with the major museums of the Netherlands: The Kröller-Müller Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and the Mauritshuis. “With their high-quality digital files and our use of the latest technologies and the best materials, we create the perfect reproductions.”
Sustainability
At Dutch Art Reproductions they work with sustainable wood (PEFC certified) for the stretcher frames. They recycle packaging as much as possible for deliveries to museum shops and to customers’ homes. They also source all basic materials mainly in the Netherlands and Europe. Stephan and Monique also think it is important that young people are introduced to crafts. “Over the years, we have therefore trained several young people who are at a disadvantage in the labor market within our company.”
