About the Makers
Holie was founded by Merick, who, after working for years at Ahold, decided to combine his passion for nature and good food. Driven by the desire to combat climate change, he started Holie in 2017; a company that makes plant-based food products with a mission. Together with co-founders Marc and Valentijn, he built a brand that is not only tasty and healthy, but also contributes to a better planet. Their shared goal: planting 1 million trees in 10 years.
Production Process
Holie products are made locally, in and around Amsterdam, according to strict sustainability principles. Holie chooses only the best plant-based ingredients, such as hummus without palm oil and soy, and lets chef Marc develop the flavor. Health comes first, so no sugars are added. In addition, Holie ensures that its products are affordable, so that everyone has access to nutritious and sustainable food.

Sustainability is at the core of Holie’s mission. By only using plant-based ingredients, Holie reduces the ecological footprint of its products. In addition, the company invests half of its profits in planting trees, making consumers directly part of their mission to combat climate change.
