Are you looking for home accessories, games and original gifts with a sustainable character? MeuQ Design designs and produces everything locally in-house, with a passion for sustainability, an eye for the end user and as much use of residual flows as possible.
About the makers
Meuq Design originated from the passion of Silvan Glorie and Ties Westerhuis; two young industrial designers with a love for materials, the manufacturing process and sustainability. Silvan and Ties started designing various products for different companies and industries and are also active in interior products. “We saw how much residual waste is produced. What a shame! We started working with this in mind, initially to reduce our flow of residual materials. This turned out to be possible by making unique, useful and challenging gifts and games due to the size of these types of products.”
The production process
From their studio and workshop in Zaandam, Ties and Silvan design and make their products with a story and a sustainable edge. The production process is a fusion of digital production techniques and traditional craft. Many of the products are made with a laser cutter and then assembled by hand.
Sustainability
MeuQ Design is continuously looking for consistent residual flows of wood and plastic sheet material, in order to subsequently transform these into special products that offer added value for the user.
